Dell supplies eLearning infrastructure

Dell and CosmoGrid continue to support Grid-Ireland. The infrastructure planned for the future Grid-Ireland eLearning environment has now been purchased from Dell under very favourable terms and generously funded by CosmoGrid.

The infrastructure includes 16 dual-Xeon servers, each with 8GB DRAM and 500GB disk, plus a firewall and switch. The infrastructure will host a replica of Grid-Ireland using virtual machine technology, and will be integrated into the planned eLearning environment.

The Grid-Ireland website is hosted on cagraidsvr06.cs.tcd.ie in the Department of Computer Science, Trinity College Dublin.
