Grid-Ireland in the news

The switch-on of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN on September 10th has generated huge media interest. The Grid-Ireland Operations Centre at TCD is an active participant in the LHC: our computers and disk servers store and process data from the Atlas and LHCb experiments. To date, we have contributed the equivalent of more than 300,000 hours of computation to the LHC computing effort, as described in the TCD press release.
